Overview
The culture and social hub, Zagreb is also the capital of Croatia. It has so much to offer! The people are so warm and welcoming that you immediately feel blessed to be here. We really loved the small events that pop here and there (even during pandemic times), which make the city more dynamic and ever-changing.

One can argue the food options are more basic than you would desire while traveling, but if you pick carefully you can find authentic and quality places to eat, drink, dance; whatever you are up for. For us, Zagreb was the first city we lived in when kicking off our nomadic lifestyle. And since then, after seeing a few more places, we appreciate her even more.
Co-Works
Zagreb positioned itself as a very attractive city for remote workers and digital nomads. The combination of the young vibe, affordable prices, and easily accessible transportation is no doubt the most important attribute for freelancers or occasional working-holiday visitors. As for working spaces, we have you covered.

Impact Hub Zagreb

The Impact Hub network has reached Zagreb as well. You can almost never go wrong when choosing a platform that works and an organization that knows our needs. Although it might scratch the higher bar in terms of price, you will get in return a centrally located space, organized events, yoga classes, a cozy and intimate space to work from, and many other like-minded people to socialize with.

ZICER

The Zicer is popular for hosting offices for start-ups as well as for offering co-working desks, so it is more affordable than the previous venue. If the main goal is getting work done, it's a viable option.

Nomad Friendly Cafe's

Buksa

A word game that suggests the nature of the place. It has books stationed from wall to wall, a coffee bar, and a quiet atmosphere that is very inviting to open a book or a laptop and sink in a chair. Anyhow, we would recommend checking it out and the bars next to it.

Kavana Lav

Choose between one of the scattered sofas or coffee tables, and chill as long as you need. Quiet, well designed, and friendly staff - a good combination. The coffee is also notable, they really know how to make it right.

A Croatian dish originated in the area of Zagreb, similar to it’s Slovenian relative štruklji. It is a made of dough and a filling that can be boiled or baked. Sounds simple, but very good when done right.
Restaurants and Bars

Booze and Blues

Close to Zagreb University, in a cute lively street, you will find this cheerful bar that often hosts live music events with bands and performers from all over the place. Make sure you fill your belly beforehand as they don't serve food and you will probably find yourself drinking a few more drinks than you expected.

Zagreb 360° observation deck

Something between an attraction and an actual bar. Located at the top floor of the highest building around, serving snacks and drinks, this bar is a great spot to catch the sunset and have an afternoon break from the loud city below it. Due to the nature of this place, it might be more pricey than your usual night out, but a great sight to see.

Submarine Burger Frankopanska

A Burger diner with all the bells and whistles you could ask for. Start with a beer from a local brewery (Pivovara Medvedgrad is our favorite), and go on with your choice of the many options and toppings that construct your ideal burger. Just writing about it brings back memories of that lovely taste.

Park Josipa Jurja Strossmayera

This is not a bar or a restaurant, it's an ordinary park. Well ok, it's not exactly ordinary. The middle part is functioning as a venue for frequently changing events that you can call food festivals or anything like that. There are great (!) food stalls, live or DJ music, and overall many young people who come after work to chat and enjoy a lovely evening in the open with friends. Fortunately, we lived a few minutes from there, so it was our go-to whenever we wanted a night out without the risk of disappointment.
