Overview
San Cristóbal De Las Casas, is a city in the center of the beautiful and nature packed Chiapas state. The minute you get out of the bus, you feel different, an instant tranquility that is hard to explain, especially if you come from one of the coastal destinations or the packed cities. The altitude for sure has something to do with it (2,000+ meters), but not just that.

It is very authentic. The local clothing everywhere, the central plaza, and the chaotic market which is maybe one of the city’s best attractions. Nature lovers will also dig the endless trips available from San Cris which are just breathtaking.
Co-Works
There are two that we know of, with one of them, Centalita, being the more popular one.

Nómadas Digitales

Centalita

The main well-established co-work business. The space is very pleasant, well designed, and spacious. We would wish for better chairs instead of the standard wooden ones, but overall a great place to work from and meet like-minded people.

Nómadas Digitales

A new kid in town, this place has a more modern look from Centralita but less overall space and people working inside. Unfortunately, we didn't work from there that much so we don't have a strong opinion about it, but it is definitely a viable option if you are living nearby.

Nomad Friendly Cafe's

Café Bar Revolución

A popular bar and Cafe to socialize and optionally work from, especially in the mornings when it is calm and quiet.

Frontera Cafe

A true gem. You can enjoy great coffee and the fine weather in the garden and get work done at the same time. They have a good variety of dishes, including vegetarian options.

Guanábana (Soursop in English) which is the fruit of the Anonna Muricata tree, is a fruit that grows in the area although its exact origin is unknown. It is often described as a combination between strawberry and apple, with a citrusy flavor.
Restaurants and Bars

La Maldita

The best post to catch the sunset and enjoy a cool beer. The view is stunning, and the place is designed to attract locals and travelers as one. You might find it more pricey compared to the average restaurant, but it's definitely worth it.

La Lupita

Local Mexican food and craft beers are at their best here. The vibes are great as well if you are looking to meet new friends or get local recommendations.

Posheria San Cristobal

Posh, which deserves its own spot on this blog is the local alcoholic drink. It comes in many colors and flavors, and the Posheria is the leader in top-notch, locally made Posh that you can either drink on sight or purchase to drink at home.

San Cristobal Market

It's not a single business, but maybe one of the main attractions in San Cris. The prices are good, for groceries and street food as well. We tried the Tamales from one of the ladies which was glorious. You can even get a haircut if you want!
