Overview
An Island that is known to be a tourist spot, for the good and for the bad. But actually, you can find it all, no matter what your style is. In the southernmost portion of Phuket is Rawai, a village with many condos and restaurants primarily for expats. This is also where we spent most of our time. In the midwest is Patong, the touristy haven; crowded with bars and parties, and Kamala which has a relaxed, bohemian atmosphere. The airport is located in northern Phuket, along with many local villages and national parks. The capital city of the district and the island, Phuket Town, is located on the eastern side of the island. This lovely city is known for its artistic vibe and great restaurants.

So in short, it’s an island with an experience for everyone, maybe this is why it is such a safe bet when planning to spend a week or two in Thailand. We can’t say it has the best of everything in Thailand, but it is a good accessible island with a lot to offer.
Co-Works
If you are in Phuket Town you might find it easier to find an office space, but other more rural areas are not yet accommodated to this new era. So we have one place that we can report positively, and hopefully more will pop with time.

Let’s Work-Phuket

A relatively new place with an active owner who makes his business a welcoming place for patrons while also accommodating staff needs. The 2nd floor is the quiet floor with a separate office, the first floor is a more casual zone where you can work and chit chat at the same time. Friday nights are communal night outs which are fun and entertaining, and members get a free coffee everyday (and their coffee is excellent).

Nomad Friendly Cafe's

mood

There are a few branches in Patong, one of them is on the beach and has strong internet to use for remote work. Price and quality are comparable to Starbucks or similar chains.

Campus coffee roaster

As Hipster as it gets, with a minimal design which resembles a classroom from the 20s. Their coffee might just be the best coffee we tasted, and we probably just scratched the surface as they have some many unique coffee preps and recipes. It is common to see people working from their laptops at this coffee shop, so feel free to utilize their space.

Phuketique

Caution! You might not eat anywhere else after visiting this place. The food is amazing, and they have craft beers. Note that if you plan to work, it is better to come during times it is not busy. Although it is nomad friendly, it is also a popular spot for anyone else.

Dou Brew Coffee & Craft

Another place with specialty coffee, and boy it is good. Dou Brew is quite popular around Phuket Town amongst visitors and locals. What makes it nice to work from is the calm atmosphere and neutral space that makes the time go by without you noticing, especially after a few of their strongly brewed coffee drinks.

We Cafe

On another area of the island sits this beautifully designed coffee shop with plenty of room and great food. Visitors have a view of the beach and a mix of long tail boats, and high end yachts, a spectacular scene. The Internet is usually good enough to work at this location.

The Som Tam or Papaya Salad is the most famous salad of the Kingdom. You might be confused when you first see papaya; however, for this dish, the green papaya is used, rather than the sweet and ripe fruit we are most familiar with.
Restaurants and Bars

No.6 Restaurant

A local restaurant that is rarely left empty. The prices are low but your expectations should be high, as everything is served freshly and just right with the seasoning and spiciness. If it takes you too long and you want to try something many never discover, try the SukiYaki soup.

Wassa Homemade Bar

It's hard to imagine a better spot to see the sunset in the Patong area. You will need to get out of the main action for a bit, but the rooftop view paired with the meal or drink of your choice will make any afternoon a memorable one.

Quip Rooftop Bar

This bar is located on the top floor of the Quip Hotel, which is not very common in Phuket Town. The architecture of the building is typical of Phuket Town and is called Sino-Portuguese, coming from the imperial period. Just go up the stairs and enjoy one of the best vibes and most tranquil environments in Phuket.

Ska Bar

Opposite the mainstream rooftops and fancy cocktail bars, this beach bar is a more casual, neighborhood place that you will enjoy going to anytime. The music fluctuates between reggae and a more mellow temp, changing according to the vibe of the crowd. This is the perfect spot to meet up with friends and visit time and time again.

Cue bar

A perfect sports bar to catch an anticipated match or just play snooker and chill. The beers are also poured nonstop, as they should in a sports bar. Visit their terrace to see if you can catch some live music!
