This restaurant is 1 in 3 on the island with an entire section dedicated to co-working, including ergonomic chairs, proper tables, a/c, and complimentary water. You can purchase a weekly or monthly pass that allows you to visit any of the 3 restaurants as a workspace at any time! This deal is unbelievable with a monthly rate of only ~75$! Though it is not your typical high-tech working space, it is still a refreshing, and innovative way to allow people like you and me to work comfortably all while having access to good food, an ocean view, a pool to cool off in, and a welcoming community.
The La Casa Tropicana restaurant is another workspace included in the 3 in 1 deal, and just so happens to be our personal favorite. This dual-purpose real estate has a practical and aesthetically pleasing setup for remote workers inside including skype booths, and a beachfront view. The only con is that this location has limited co-working space, so it can get full occasionally.
This hidden gem is a true marvel. The first time we have worked in a place that was literally steps away from the water was at the Beach Hub. This beautiful workspace comes with computer chairs, several fans for hot days, and is close enough that you can truly feel as though you're in one of those "digital nomad porn" photos that people upload while working from the beach. The only downside was the humidity, which can potentially harm your electronic devices. However, we have not yet traveled with a humidity detector, which would enable visitors to compare humidity levels at various workspace locations.
The Capara cafe is a chic restaurant that serves delicious Mediterranean food while offering a comforting and relaxing space for remote work. The owner of this establishment is very friendly, and recently announced they are renovating the upper floor to create a designated working space for remote workers, therefore providing greater privacy and maximized productivity.
When climbing to the top floor, you could easily mistake this cafe for a real co-working space. This is because most patrons go there to work. This cafe provides low tables with cushions for seating, as well as average height tables and chairs. . Anyway this appreciation for the working crowd is not something you are seeing very often. Oh and the food is awesome!
At the top of a steep road, looking over the ocean, you will find this cool resort & restaurant that also features a lovely pool free to use. For those who come to get some work done, the owner closed a small section with a great view, equipped with A/C and enough plugs to host around 10 people. Loving it!
As opposed to the other ones, this one is only outdoor, which can become a problem if it is too hot or rainy. But otherwise, the space is large and welcoming remote workers who come often to work from there and dip in the sea once they feel the heat is too challenging. They offer also accommodation and of course very nice Thai food.
Depends in what time of they day you arrive, but if it's not too busy you can easily spend here few hours enjoying amazing coffee and food, and again - great view. The place is very popular regardless to remote workers so note that it can get noisy and busy at rush hours.
A famous bar on a high hill on the west coast of the island that is mostly busy during sunset time when everybody comes to witness the sun go down with a breathtaking view. Maybe not the best food, but good vibrant music and happy alternative people are what makes this place what it is.
A famous and Instagrammable resort that is located up the hill in the western coast. It is great to go for food, chilling at the pool, or catching the sunset, or all of them together.
A great restaurant and bar with an Asian-French fusion style. The dishes are very well made, and the selection of wine and drinks is also impressive. Occasionally live music is played, and in general something about the atmosphere makes every evening there a good night out.
A small restaurant close to the main pier that features all kinds of fancy hamburgers together with classic choices as well. The veggie burger is surprisingly good.
After 9pm more or less, this large hippie/rasta styled bar comes to life with all kinds of people that come to socialize and hear jumpy live music ranging from reggae to rock. It feels like something in between bar to a small party, which makes it special and a must experience if you are spending some time on the island.
The added value in this one is a sauna and ice pool that you can freely access if you are a customer of the restaurant. Besides that you will find versatile menu and friendly staff.
A true gem for any vegan or anyone who want to eat healthy nutritious food. The also specialize in coffee with all kind of milk alternatives, from almond, rice, to coconut milk. You can actually see that some of the vegetables are grown there in the garden.
