Overview
Our local Moroccan friend always talked about Essaouira as a place they really love. After getting there we could understand why, but maybe we had expected too much of it.

The town is lovely and the art & music scene is definitely something to cherish, but on the other hand the amount of trash in the streets and smell of fish and seagulls everywhere makes the experience a bit rough.

Comparing to Marrakech, Essaouira is much more calm and open, the crowd is younger, and it is on the beach, which is a bonus only if you surf basically.
Co-Works
Not many people come here to work apparently, otherwise there would be more places to work from.
We found and worked mainly from a co-living space that offers co-work services as well, you can read about it below.

Noqta Space
Noqta Space

Noqta Space

A very cozy and 'living room' styled. Noqta space is new and one of the first of it's kind in Essaouira. It offers quality coffee and few tables to work from. Don't expect a fancy multi-level working space, but it does has it's magic.

Nomad Friendly Cafe's

Mandala Society Essaouira

Our goto place for western style breakfast and chilled vibes. It is also possible to open a laptop if it's not too crowded, but note that many people come there so secure your spot early.

Couscous – The Moroccan answer to Pasta and Rice. It is made out of semolina and topped with vegetables and long cooked meat of some sort. Yummy.
Restaurants and Bars

Restaurant ADWAK

Amazing Lamb tagine. In general maybe the best Moroccan food we tried. Family restaurant, very cozy, very pleasant service, and a lot of flavors and spices in every dish.

Dar Baba Restaurant & More

Amazing place for a night out. The place is very well designed, the cocktails are top class, the food is prepared beautifully, the staff is so nice. Really hard to find negative things to say about it. Maybe our best dinner in Morocco.

Mega Loft OthmanChic

The place is designed to impress for sure. The potential is big, but for some reason we did not enjoy the hamburgers, nor the lack of service. Hopefully the place seen better days.

Taros

A cool place to catch a live music show. It is organized as few terraces looking over a middle ground where the concerts happen. We haven't tried the food but they serve alcohol if you are coming just for a chill time and few beers.
