Digital Nomading in Japan, how expensive is it really and is it really worth it?

It's probably the most dominant cowork space in Ubud. Subscribing to a plan here will allow you to work also from the Canggu branch of Outpost which is nice if you plan to hop between the areas. The space itself is diverse. You can sit outside in a large wooden space or step into the air conditioned space, which is a bit too small in our opinion. Another nice fact is the amazing Alchemy coffee shop that is just next door.
An empire in the making. This complex of few different shops and spaces with a lovely coffee shop in the middle is a place we would recommend checking out for everyone that visits the area. They have concerts, events, workshops, real estate consultants, and more. For those who look for a nice place to work from, this is a great option as they offer a lot of sitting options, often with a plug nearby, and you can stay as much as you like without feeling un-welcomed.
Alchemy is an organic vegan restaurant with delicious dishes, and a custom healthy bowl option where you can choose what you want inside. The decor is very "zen" and will make you feel relaxed in a moment, and the staff is very friendly and will be happy to elaborate and educate about any of the dishes and their health benefits. There is also a small shop that is part of the restaurant which sells organic produce and other eco and healthy goodies.
One of our go-to cafes for work from in Ubud. Come early if you want to catch a nice quiet spot. One of those places which you instantly say "wow it's nice here". The food is also a marvel with great vegan and local produce options. It might not suit a full day's work as it gets busy at some point but definitely worth checking out.
Arguably, the best coffee in town. A super good one at least. The space is not big, but people still come here often with a laptop and crunch a few hours of work.
The décor and atmosphere is something out of this world. Often places in Bali put a lot of effort into interior design, but this place really got it right. Different sitting options for either using a normal table or a low setup to feel more casual and have the ability to lay down when you feel like. and the food is absolutely tasty.
A place that everyone should know about. You can come there and sit with a rice paddies view, or inside a well balanced interior, and enjoy supreme coffee and food. We didn't work there personally but it looks like it is more than possible and highly recommended to try. It is a bit outside from Ubud center, but surely worth the ride.
The single restaurant in Ubud which when we have been there was always busy and bustling while many other restaurants struggled with getting more than half full occupancy. The reasons are obvious - world class Mediterranean food and a sort of medi-eval decor which automatically throws you to Europe and you slightly forget that you are in another part of the world.
We loved this place for its live concerts and support for young musicians that come and play their stuff to whoever is listening. But even if live music is not operating, it is a very nice place to grab a beer and socialize with locals and fellow foreigners. Ubud can use more places like this.
Small yet very successful Japanese restaurant that offers a different promotion almost every day. Although they don't need the promotions to compensate for the lack of quality, the food is great and we happily will recommend it to anyone who lives nearby.
A tad north of the center you will find this lovely place with friendly staff that serves all kinds of foods but with a strong lean towards great Indian food. Super tasty!
An upscale restaurant where people come not only for having a romantic dinner but also to enjoy a marvelous view on the valley below, which is especially beautiful during sunset. Maybe one of the only places around Ubud that offers a good sunset experience.
If you want a place with good music (often live DJ all day), a pool to dip your toes, and a range of classy and local dishes, this is the place. It is practically the pool bar of a hotel, but anyone can come in and enjoy the facilities.
